Changed lives. Real stories.

Lives transformed.

These are real people who found hope, healing, and a new life through Shall Never Thirst Ministries and the power of Jesus Christ.

Aaron's Story

My name is Aaron Warner and even being able to write this today is a true testimony of the love of Jesus Christ. I am 31 years old and grew up in South Jersey in a home with both my Mother, Father, and two younger siblings.

I was loved and shown the love of Christ from an early age. I grew up playing sports and having a good time with friends. That good time quickly became what I thought of as a "great time" around the age of 12 when I discovered alcohol. At the age of 13 I started smoking weed and progressed from there. In High School I found pills and cocaine. My senior year I was accepted into Penn State — but little did I know this would just add to my spiraling into the dark, deep path of addiction.

"I realized that God had lifted his hand from me and left me to my own devices. I knew at that moment I had reached an all-time bottom. My biggest fear had become a reality — I was utterly and fully alone, and it was two days before Christmas."

I became overwhelmed with fear and cried out to the Lord. Again, Jesus showed up in a big way through a fellow believer giving me the number to Chuck Miller and Shall Never Thirst Ministries. I was picked up on Christmas Eve and can say that Christmas is my sobriety date.

Since coming to Shall Never Thirst my life and more importantly my heart has changed drastically. I have been blessed with reconciliation with family members that I did not expect. I am going to be applying to college and taking an addictions counseling course. All of this is not of me — it is all thanks to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Amanda's Story

When I was growing up I saw what drugs did to people. This disease ran in my family and I always said that would never be me — and boy was I wrong. By 18 I began to use drugs. I did everything and anything I could get my hands on. The drug took over my life and I thought that was how I would spend the rest of it.

"God took me out of the dark and allowed me to see the light that I could never dream about seeing."

One morning I woke up crying about my life and how helpless and lost I was. That morning I went away and never looked back. I went to a Christian-based recovery house — I remember the day I walked in on August 7, 2014. I stayed for 15 months and learned how great my God is.

Today I am a child of the one true God. I went to school and became a medical assistant. Now I am working two jobs and going back to school for my nursing degree. I ask God everyday to give me strength and he never fails.

Debbie's Story

I walked into Shall Never Thirst Ministries doors in 2015. I come from a drug-addicted background, addicted to pain killers and cocaine. I lived with addiction for quite some time.

"What my addiction took from me, I was able to get back and more coming to this ministry and following Christ."

I was able to learn who I was off of drugs. I was able to have peace of mind and regain the confidence I lost long ago. I was able to watch my daughters also recover from addiction. I used to live in fear — afraid of the unknown, afraid of this world. But now I'm not afraid. The Bible says no fear, but love, power, and a sound mind. I am able to walk in that today.

I am able to watch my granddaughters grow and be a part of that. Now I am working as a home health aide. I am able to be there for others and I am able to have another day clean and sober.

A Parent's Perspective

I can attest to the value of the work you are doing in Shall Never Thirst Ministries. I'm a parent of a former addict and I believe that the power of Christ is what changes the addict. My son traded a life of bondage to heroin to a life surrendered to Jesus Christ and is now leading a Discipleship program in Washington state.

"The men came to my home and spent a full day doing yard clean up. What started as a garage roof repair became a full roof replacement. The guys were very respectful and I enjoyed meeting each one."

The guys are in our church every Wednesday night receiving the Good News. One by one God is transforming them into Godly men who want to serve their brothers and sisters. I believe the good far outweighs any negative. I pray this ministry has the opportunity to grow and thrive.
